Three courts receive alternative justice grants

Macon-Bibb’s Mental Health Court, Veterans Court, and Felony Drug Court have all received grants from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) to continue their missions of providing an alternative justice system for non-violent offenders. The goal is to cut back on repeat offenses. For more details on these grants, click here.

The Mental Health Court for Bibb County is getting $246,953. The CJCC has awarded $222,258, and the court must match that grant with $24,695. Macon-Bibb’s Mental Health Court was formed in 2007. You can read details on the grant here.

The Veterans Court is getting $103,876. It specializes in helping service members with first-time, non-violent offenses. The CJCC has awarded the court $93,488, and the court must match that with $10,388. The Veterans Court was formed in 2014. You can read details on the grant here.

The Adult Felony Drug Court is getting $135,678. The CJCC has awarded $122,110, and the court must match that with $13,568. The Adult Felony Drug Court was formed in 1994. You can read details on the grant here.
