Our Council of Clergy met for its regular luncheon on Thursday, April 13. This time, it was held at the South Bibb Recreation Center.
Dozens of clergy members came together to learn from one another and talk about ways to keep our community safe and thriving. They heard from speakers from Resilient Macon, Central Georgia Technical College, the National Day of Prayer Committee, and U Create Macon.
“It’s important that the religious leadership in Macon come together to discuss various issues in our community,” said Dr. Henry Ficklin, Executive Director of Community Affairs. “This is a great opportunity to have everyone in the room asking questions and learning more about what each congregation is doing to improve our community.”
The Council typically meets every other month to give our local faith leaders an opportunity to discuss issues facing their congregants and the community at large. They also have the chance to talk with other ministers and organizations aimed at promoting peace and justice in our community.
