District 6 Commissioner Joe Allen is hosting a series of three Town Hall Meetings as a way to let people know what is currently happening in Macon-Bibb. It will also provide people the means to ask questions and express concerns directly to the departments and officials in charge.

The first meeting was March 28 at Lizella Baptist Church. The next two are April 4 at Church of Christ ( 5859 Thomaston Road ), and April 11 at Mt. Pleasant Church ( 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road ). Each will run from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. , and people will be provided notecards to write their questions on.

“People need to hear from the people they elected and the people hired to serve our community,” says Commissioner Allen. “These meetings are a great way to hear and be heard, and I hope people come out to make sure we’re doing what needs to be done.”

The following people will be available at one or more of the meetings, depending on their schedules:

  • David Davis, Bibb County Sheriff
  • Wade McCord, Macon-Bibb County Tax Commissioner
  • Lester Miller, Bibb County Board of Education President
  • Frank Patterson, Macon Water Authority Member
  • Julie Moore, Assistant to the County Manger
  • David Fortson, Macon-Bibb County Engineer
  • Donald Bracewell, Lake Tobesofkee Director
  • Robbie Fountain, Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority Chair
  • David Gowan, Macon-Bibb County Board of Health
