On Thursday, December 11, Mayor Lester Miller and Community Affairs Executive Director Dr. Henry Ficklin hosted the final Council of Clergy Luncheon of the year at the Memorial Park Recreation Center.

The luncheon brought together clergy members and community leaders from across Macon-Bibb County for conversation, connection, and collaboration around shared community goals. Lunch was served at 11:30 a.m., followed by a program focused on partnership and service.

“This luncheon is about bringing people together who are doing meaningful work in our community,” said Mayor Miller. “Every conversation strengthens our partnerships and helps us continue working together to improve the lives of the people we all serve.”

The program featured remarks from Dr. Harold Young, Director of the Tubman African American Museum; DaWanda Williams with The Freedom Collective; and Judge Bill Adams, founder of Middle Georgia Justice. Each speaker shared insights on community engagement, advocacy, and the importance of working together to support residents across Macon-Bibb County.

The Council of the Mayor’s Clergy focuses on building a better community by promoting unity and fostering healthy racial relations through partnerships with local government and community organizations. Events like the Council of Clergy Luncheon provide an opportunity for open dialogue and continued collaboration between faith leaders and local leadership.
