On Saturday, April 2 our friends and neighbors came together to clean our streets! Together, our community picked up 31,226 pounds of litter and debris, bringing our total to more than 123 tons since our first county-wide clean up in 2021.

“I am very pleased regarding the community’s participation during the most recent County-wide Clean Up,” said incoming Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Executive Director Asha Ellen. “This proves that the citizens of Macon-Bibb are committed to the Clean Streets Matter initiative. I am excited about the future of Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful and look forward to many more future clean ups.”

“I am so proud of the people who took the time out of their day to clean up our community,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Keeping our streets clean is a team effort. I love to see that we came together because clean streets matter.”

About 30 groups signed up to clean up different parts all over our County. Adding to what our departments, and other community members did since the announcement of our Clean Streets Matter initiative in 2021, more than 20 million pounds of trash, litter, and debris was has been removed from our streets.
