Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

January 28, 2022

More than 13,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year. Atrium Health’s Peyton Anderson Cancer Center is advocating for early detection and intervention through screenings and HPV vaccinations. Mayor Lester Miller has declared January 2022 as Cervical Cancer Awareness Month to join in that mission. Everyone is encouraged to learn about cervical cancer and the risk factors and prevention associated with it so we can save lives. Pictured here at the proclamation presentation are Missi Upshaw, Julie Harbin, and Executive Director of Community Affairs, Dr. Henry Ficklin.
