On Tuesday, February 18, Mayor Lester Miller and Commissioners celebrated Black History Month with a proclamation presentation.

Black History Month is a time to honor the rich cultural heritage, achievements, and contributions of African Americans throughout history and to recognize their vital role in shaping our nation’s progress. The greatness of America is reflected in the contributions of African Americans in all walks of life throughout the history of the United States and their stories have become an intricate part in the history of our country.

“I encourage all citizens to participate in Black History Month events, support Black-owned businesses, and engage in meaningful discussions that promote justice, equity, and progress,” says Mayor Lester Miller.
