The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is getting $7,000 to fund the 2016-2017 SAFE Youth Champs Program. CHAMPS stands for ‘Choosing Healthy Activities and Methods Promoting Safety.’ The money is coming from the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, and will help program leaders reach out to more than 2,200 Bibb County elementary school students this year. The children will learn about making good decisions, and steering clear of bullying, drugs, violence, tobacco and more. You can read more about this grant, and the CHAMPS program, here.
