Sheriff’s Office expands law enforcement opportunities

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is making changes to its job requirements for those wanting to become a deputy sheriff and to expand the opportunity for more people to begin a career in law enforcement.
Interested people must now be at least 18 years old, whereas before they had to be at least 21 years old. Applicants looking for a career at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office must have a high school diploma, or a high school equivalency diploma (GED).
The current salary for a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputy sheriff begins at $36,192 – $57,762 with opportunities for overtime. A deputy sheriff may also take advantage of health insurance, benefits, and promotion opportunities within the agency.
