More than 100 people came out to Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful’s (KMBB) annual Bring One for the Chipper event on Saturday, January 7. KMBB collected 138 trees to be recycled instead of just sitting in a landfill.

All recycled trees are being turned into mulch which will eventually go back into environment for fish habitats. People who brought in the trees were able to take home seeds to plant at home.

“For more than 30 years, KMBB has hosted Bring One for the Chipper,” said KMBB Executive Director Asha Ellen. “We are so thankful to the citizens of Macon-Bibb for their continuous support.”

If you didn’t get a chance to take your tree to the event, you still have time to recycle them by taking your undecorated Christmas trees to either Convenience Centers (4214 Fullton Mill Rd or 1010 11th Street). Click here for more information about the Centers, including when they are open.
