It’s time for everyone to have a say in a project that will revitalize our entire community. The County, along with the Design Build Team, is asking the public to come out and share their ideas for the design of the amphitheater.
The County will hold two public input sessions on Thursday, March 3 at the Macon Mall (3661 Eisenhower Pkwy) on the bottom floor near the Food Court. One session will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and the other will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
“We want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to have a say in this very important project,” says Mayor Lester Miller. “This revitalization is a team effort, and we can’t do it alone. So, we want to provide a more personal interaction to learn about the future of the area and provide input.”
People will have the opportunity to view renderings, site diagrams, and early floor plans . The sessions will have different stations for people to see it all and interact with members of the Design Build Team, learning about different aspects including guest access, VIP access, service access, ad how the area could potentially be developed.
“The amphitheater project, along with the entire mall project, is something that cannot be done without the earnest and engaged feedback of this community,” said Urban Development Authority Executive Director Alex Morrison. “This is just one of the many opportunities the public will have to take charge of the process for their own community redevelopment.”
Earlier this month, Macon-Bibb County Urban Development Authority – acting on behalf of Macon-Bibb County – approved the selection of TVS, Piedmont Construction Group, Stage Front, and HGOR as the Design/Build Team for the new outdoor amphitheater. You can read more here.
