Macon-Bibb first community to get Age-Friendly status renewal

At an event on March 21, it was announced that Macon-Bibb County was the first community to receive a five-year renewal of its Age-Friendly Community status by the AARP and World Health Organization.

At the event, the AARP acknowledged Macon-Bibb’s commitment and multi-year plan to enhance accessibility, convenience, and, ultimately, become more user-friendly for all ages. To see pictures from the event, click here.

The AARP/WHO Age-Friendly program provides for continuous community sustainability, and that includes enhancing programs and looking at development and infrastructure that promote a walkable, livable, multimodal, and green lifestyle.
