Jean Howard named Clerk of Commission

On February 17, 2015, the Macon-Bibb Commission approved the appointment of Jean S. Howard to the position of Clerk of Commission. In the consolidated Macon-Bibb government, she served as Interim Clerk of Commission and Assistant County Clerk.

Prior to consolidation, Ms. Howard worked with the City of Macon beginning in the year 2000, holding several positions, including City Clerk, Senior Executive Officer to the Mayor, and Workforce Development Coordinator. Ms. Howard has also held managerial positions with the U.S Bureau of the Census and Bellsouth Telecommunications, from which she retired after 28 years of service.

A native of Macon-Bibb, Ms. Howard attended Bibb County public schools, Macon State College, and Mercer University. She holds her Certification as a Municipal Clerk and has completed the Clerks Masters Education Program with Honors from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government.
