As summer winds down and students prepare to head back to school, the Macon-Bibb County Recreation Department is reminding residents that its public pools will close for the season after Saturday, August 1.

Families are encouraged to take one last swim before the pools close, and the summer season officially comes to an end.

“We’ve had another great summer at our pools, and we’re grateful to everyone who came out to cool off, spend time with family, and make lasting memories,” said Recreation Director Robert Walker. “I also want to thank our lifeguards and Recreation staff for their hard work and dedication to providing a safe, fun environment for our community all summer long. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”

The Recreation Department thanks the community for another successful pool season and encourages residents to continue taking advantage of the many programs and activities offered throughout the year at Macon-Bibb’s recreation centers.
