On Tuesday, November 25, residents at the Brookdale Resource Center were treated to a special Thanksgiving meal thanks to the generosity of local business Sonny’s BBQ. The restaurant donated and catered a traditional holiday meal, bringing warmth, comfort, and a sense of celebration to families staying at the Center.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Sonny’s BBQ’s generosity, especially during the holiday season,” said Brookdale Resource Center Director Alison Bender. “This meal meant so much to our residents. It warmed their hearts and their bellies, and gave them a moment to relax and enjoy time together.”

The Brookdale Resource Center currently serves approximately 40 residents, most of whom are families working toward stable housing. As colder temperatures settle in, the Center anticipates an increased need for shelter and services throughout the winter months.
