The vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors of Latin America will fill Downtown once again as the 4th Annual Macon-Bibb Hispanic Festival takes over Cherry Street Plaza (310 Cherry Street) on Saturday, October 18, from 1:00–7:00 p.m. For parking options, click here.

“Each year we’ve seen more families, performers, vendors, and people from out of town come out to support and share in this experience,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “It’s an honor to celebrate our Hispanic heritage right here in Macon-Bibb County. I encourage everyone to come out, celebrate, and learn about the wonderful cultures in our community.”

This free, family-friendly event kicks off with a parade through the Plaza and features live performances of traditional music and dance from across Latin America, including salsa, cumbia, merengue, and bachata. Guests can enjoy authentic Latin cuisine, shop local vendors, and experience the rich cultural heritage of Hispanic and Latinx communities.

Performances will include the Westside High School Band, La Candela Flamenco, Danzas Genéricas de Colombia, Mi Querido Panamá, Son Jazzy, Caribbean Dancers of Atlanta, and Alma Mexicana de Oro Mariachi.
Food vendors include Frios Pop, Kimica Latin, La Birrias Loca, Guitarras Mexican Grill, Mrs. Rosa Latin Kitchen, and Fiesta Snack Bar.

This year’s festival will also feature a special “Ofrenda” area in honor of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on November 1. Guests are invited to bring a photo or memento in memory of a loved one to place on the communal altar, which honors those who have passed on.

The festival coincides with National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated nationwide from September 15 to October 15. The month honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
