Macon Magazine featured our very own County Manager Dr. Keith Moffett in this year’s Leadership Issue under the “Heroes Among Us” section. Dr. Moffett was selected for not only his work with Macon-Bibb County, but his work mentoring others.
“This is both humbling and deeply meaningful to me because serving as County Manager is not just a job—it’s a calling to work every day for the people and community that shaped me,” said Dr. Moffett. “This recognition isn’t just about my role…it’s about the dedicated team, community partners, and people who share in the vision of making Macon-Bibb County stronger, safer, and more vibrant.”
When Dr. Moffett isn’t managing and overseeing 21 departments, he’s working with his fraternity Kappa Alpha and 100 Black Men to mentor youth in the community. He finds it especially important to give back to the community that raised him.
“To be honored in my hometown means that the place where I grew up sees value in the work I’m doing to give back,” Dr. Moffett adds. “It’s a reminder that leadership is about service, and that every decision we make has the power to improve lives. I’m grateful to be able to serve, and even more grateful to call this community home.”
