On Wednesday, March 5, the Macon-Bibb County Pedestrian Safety Review Board (PSRB) conducted an educational outreach session at the Brookdale Resource Center.

“The educational outreach session was very engaging,” said PSRB Chair Greg Brown.  “Attendees were excited to learn pedestrian safety tips and inform PSRB members about areas that need improvements.”

Members of the board engaged with about 25 residents and staff. They provided pedestrian safety tips, ways to navigate the roadway by cycling, and general information about the board.  Attendees also received free flashing safety arm bands, bright colored t-shirts, and safety vests.

“It was great to have board members come out and visit with our residents to provide important information about how to navigate our roadways safely,” said Brookdale Resource Center Alison Bender. “A big percentage of our guests rely on walking or bicycling throughout town, so these resources were extra helpful, and we are so thankful.”

The outreach session was attended by Gregory L. Brown, PSRB Chair, Rachel Umana, Vice-Chair, Nigel Floyd, Weston Stroud, Dr. Jimmie Smith, and Lt. Donald Johnson.
