On Tuesday, December 3, we celebrated our commissioners who have completed their terms on the Macon-Bibb County Commission. Tuesday was Commissioners Mallory Jones and Virgil Watkins’ last official Commission Meeting. Commissioners Elaine Lucas and Al Tillman, who vacated their seats earlier, returned for the celebration.
“I want you to remember that each of these folks brings their own life experiences to our commission,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “They have different perspectives, and they don’t always agree with each other but at the end of the day, we have to do what’s right for everybody in Macon-Bibb County. I think each of these commissioners in their own special way have done just that. They have served our community well, they’re moving on to new endeavors and we wish them well.”
On December 17, Commissioners will be sworn in for a new term and the Commission will welcome Joey Hulett as District 4 Commissioner and Donice Bryant as District 5 Commissioner.
Team Macon-Bibb thanks Commissioners Lucas, Jones, Watkins, and Tillman who have made a difference in our community and have impacted the lives of many.
