Armand Burnett, Assistant Director

Armand Burnett is a native of Macon, GA, and is a proud graduate of Southwest High School. He attended Savannah State University and received his BA degree in Parks and Recreation Administration in 2005.

Mr. Burnett started his Recreation career in November 2010 as the Center Director of Freedom Park Recreation Center with the City of Macon. In 2012 he was promoted the position of Athletic Coordinator with Macon -Bibb County where he served for 4 years. He then accepted a position in 2016 with the Macon County Parks and Recreation Department (Montezuma, GA) where he served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for 3 years. He returned to the Macon-Bibb County Government in September 2019 to serve in his current position as the Assistant Director of Recreation. Mr. Burnett has over 13+ years of recreation experience in the areas of operations, parks, and administration.

Mr. Burnett enjoys working in recreation and believes that recreation plays a vital part in the quality of life of the citizens and patrons of the Macon-Bibb County Community. He is passionate about giving back to Macon-Bibb County by serving in his current role.

Mr. Burnett is a member of the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association, and the National Recreation and Parks Association. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Mr. Burnett is a husband (Tamika Burnett) and a father of two (Amari & Taliyah Burnett). His hobbies include (Spending time with family, traveling, basketball, and pickleball)
