That time of year is again upon us – the dreaded flu season. One of the best ways to prevent coming down with it is to get your flu shot. County Commissioners and other leaders had the chance to get their shots before Tuesday’s Commission meeting.

While flu viruses are detected year-round, flu viruses typically circulate during the fall and winter during what’s known as the flu season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says flu activity often begins to increase in October, and most of the time, activity peaks between December and February.

Be sure to keep you and your family safe this season and do what you can to be healthy. The North Central Health District is offering flu shots as well, call 478-745-0411 or visit its website to make an appointment.
