Picnic in the Park draws hundreds to Downtown Macon

The Recreation Department’s first Picnic in the Park was a success over the weekend! Seven food trucks parked at Carolyn Crayton Park on Saturday, May 14 for people in our community to enjoy.

Kona Ice and Jail Creek Farms Winery were also available to park goers. The family-friendly event drew around 400 people from all over our community.

“We had a wonderful turnout for our first event,” said Kalyn Collins, Recreation Senior Administrative Assistant. “Hopefully those who attended will tell of their friends. Word of mouth is the best advertising there is!”

The Recreation Department is hoping to bring this event back for more people to enjoy in July.

You can watch highlights from the event here.
