Election Day is Tuesday, May 24, and the Board of Elections is looking for poll workers and poll managers. Those are the folks who get you signed in to vote, give you the stickers, and handle operations at the precincts on Election Day. They need about 400 poll workers per election.

To apply, visit the Board of Elections between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. People as young as 16 years old are eligible, just bring your ID. It is a paid position, and you’ll be paid for training and Election Day after May 24.

“Being a poll worker is a great way to take part in the election process from a different perspective,“ says Administrative Assistant for The Board of Elections Charlene Maynard. “We wish more young people would take part and gain a passion for voting as they become eligible to vote themselves.”

Visit the Board of Elections website here for information on voting, sample ballots and more.
