On Sunday, April 10, Macon Mental Health Matters will hold a Mental Health Pop-up Gym from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in Daisy Park (1021 Daisy Park).
“April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and we are looking forward to having the pop-up this month at Daisy Park, which is near our children’s hospital,” says Southern Center for Choice Theory’s Andrea Cooke. “We will have activities for all ages emphasizing the importance of mental wellness and its role in the prevention of child abuse. We hope our community will join us so we can share why Macon Mental Health Matters.”
This weekend’s event includes a Zen Tea garden, yoga, creating vision boards, therapy consultations, and a drum circle. The gym is free and open to people of all ages. There will also be visual journaling for the first time.
The gym needs volunteers to assist in the event this weekend and future events. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Nancy at (917) 470-5491 or nancy@maconheadspace.com.
