October 25–29 proclaimed Operation Slay Cancer Week

In order to bring awareness to breast cancer, Mayor Lester Miller presented Operation Slay Cancer with a proclamation on Thursday, October 28.

Operation Slay Cancer was started in 2015 by Shania Chambliss in honor of her mother Clarice Thomas who was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. The non-profit organization offers support groups, women empowerment events for the community, educational resources, care packages, and more.
