On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Mayor Lester Miller honored Earnestine Denise Wilson with a proclamation. Wilson, a Macon native, has been involved in several community groups including the Joshua’s House Program at Greater Little Rock Baptist Church, the Macon-Bibb County Democratic Party, and Macon-Bibb NAACP.

Over the years, Wilson led rallies, spoke out about mass incarceration, and led prayer vigils. Most recently, she traveled to Elmina, Ghana and founded Operation Soft Book, where she donated more than 100 books and learning materials to local schools. Because of her efforts, Queen Mother Nana Tseasewaa II chose her as the Queen Mother of Development and gave her the Nana Adowa Kodwuwa II.
