The Historic Douglass Theatre’s outdoor music series, Jazz in the Courtyard, is back this Memorial Day weekend. Now in its 14th year, Jazz in the Courtyard is the first major Douglass program open to the Macon community since the pandemic.
“This live music series sets the stage for our 100th anniversary celebration for the remainder of the year, says Douglass Theater director Gina Ward. “We canceled our series last year for obvious reasons. But this year, we returned renewed, refreshed, and excited.”
It starts Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. with GQ Jazz Ensemble and Class Act Band. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, snacks, and refreshments. Social distancing will be followed and face masks are optional.
