The Office of Small Business Affairs is off to a strong start in 2021, already meeting with businesses and support organizations, discussing a variety of processes that affect businesses, and identifying new ways to support everyone involved or wanting to be involved.
One of the things its new Director, Charise Stephens, found was needed were training sessions from experts on a variety of experts, so she held a series of three virtual seminars, including What is Government Contracting, Greater Macon Works Jobseekers, and Supporting Local = Dollars and Sense. More than 200 people attended the three seminars live, and the videos have been viewed more than 2,000 times on Facebook.
“The response to our first series was amazing and shows there’s an obvious need for this information in our business community, so we’re definitely planning on hold more in the near future,” says Charise. “Our next step with what we learned is to work with the attendees and anyone that watched later and get them registered as vendors with our government should they have services we could use.”
