At the Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, the Board presented proclamations, approved several items, and mentioned items up for discussion at the next Committee Meeting. 

The first proclamation was presented by Dr. Henry Ficklin, the County Director of Community Affairs. It was a proclamation of January 2021 as National Mentoring Month, specifically naming the Girls Dig Deeper program as vital in helping our young people grow on the right path. Commissioner Valerie Wynn presented the second proclamation, honoring the Mentor’s Project of Macon-Bibb County. Head of the Mentor’s Project, June O’Neal, accepted the proclamation. Then, Commissioner Elaine Lucas read and presented a proclamation in honor of National School Counselor’s Week. 

The next full commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Prior to that, the Board will have its Committee Meeting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. You can view the agendas for all these meetings here.
