Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day  Observances in Macon-Bibb

Macon-Bibb County Government Offices will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020, in observance of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Emergency services will remain active.
For Solid Waste collection services, pickups will slide one day. Advanced Disposal Services (ADS) will pick up trash and recycling beginning Tuesday, and work through Saturday. The Macon-Bibb Solid Waste Department will collect yard waste and bulk items Tuesday through Friday.
This year’s County-wide march will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020. The march will begin at four locations, and converge by noon at Macon-Bibb Government Center (700 Poplar Street).
The four starting locations for the march are:
• Northside: Booker T. Washington Center (Monroe Street)
• Eastside: Rosa Jackson Recreation Center (1211 Maynard Street)
• Westside: Frank Johnson Recreation Center (2227 Mercer University Drive)
• Southside: Memorial Gym (763 Long Street)
