The Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting on January 2, 2019 happened on a Wednesday, instead of the usual first Tuesday of the month, because of the New Year Holiday. It was abbreviated, but here’s a recap of what took place at the meeting.

Reverend Jon Brown from Vineville United Methodist Church delivered the invocation prior to the meeting.

Brittney Thomas and Leigha Mays from Georgia Girl Scouts Troop #60206 led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Board of Commissioners approved an agreement with HomeFirst Housing Resource Services to provide housing counseling services. The $68,152 comes from the federal Community Development Block Grant program. You can read more about it here.

Our next Commission Meeting will take place on Tuesday, January 15, at 6:00 p.m. at Government Center (700 Poplar Street.) Meetings are open to the public, and if you’re unable to attend you can watch at MaconBibb.TV or on our Facebook page.
