Pedestrian Safety Review Board continuing safety education campaign

Macon-Bibb County’s Pedestrian Safety Review Board (PSRB) announced the continuation of its safety and education campaign, On The Move, at a press conference on Monday, December 17. The PSRB recently received a $24,065 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to continue the program. The press conference was streamed live on Facebook. At the event, leaders spoke about the need for education in our community, and the high rate of pedestrian deaths in our community.

At the press conference, Harris Blackwood with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety praised the efforts of the PSRB here in Macon-Bibb, but also emphasized its importance. Attendees and media also heard from Coroner Leon Jones, several county commissioners, the Bibb County School District, and PSRB Board Members.
