Macon-Bibb County, in partnership with the University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and State Bank & Trust Company, will be holding its first-ever Contractors Academy beginning in September 2016 and running through April 2017.

“We want to improve the capacity of small and disadvantaged businesses to earn contracts with the government,” says Macon-Bibb County Office of Small Business Affairs Director Dr. James Bumpus.

Throughout the program, participants will learn about credit myths and realities, how to get started in business, marketing tools, how to work with government, and more. Courses are held monthly (full schedule below) at the Historic Macon Terminal Station (200 Cherry Street).

There is no cost to attend this program, but registration is required. To apply for a scholarship to attend (funded by Macon-Bibb, State Bank, and the SBDC) click here.  The application should be emailed to tlawrence@georgiasbdc.org or mailed to: UGA/SBDC, 4875 Riverside Drive, Suit 202, Macon, GA, 31201.
