Late-night fireworks no longer allowed

Avid fireworks fans will have to fizzle their fuses a little earlier now. Commissioners voted to amend the code regarding fireworks, so that people must now shut it down at 9:00 pm. The state law left it up to local governments to decide about the hours between 9:00 pm and 11:59 pm, and Macon-Bibb Commissioners decided to make that time a prohibited one.

Legal fireworks can still be used from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm every day, and even later on July 4th, and New Year’s Eve. You can read the details here.
