The Commission has approved a five-year, $1.4 million agreement with Taser International, Inc. to purchase body cameras for Bibb County Sheriff’s Office deputies. That cost also includes ways to download, view, and keep the footage captured by the cameras. The goal is to provide a clear picture of what happens when deputies interact with people.

“The video obtained from the body cameras will answer questions regarding how an incident unfolded, and they will make extremely clear what once could be considered a gray area,” says Bibb County Sheriff David Davis. “We look forward to benefitting from the new technology knowing it will help our cases become crystal clear, and will bring accountability to our deputies and citizens.”
