Stormwater infrastructure study approved

The Commission approved partnering with the Macon Water Authority to do study the current stormwater drainage system, see what needs to be fixed, and determine ways to fund the projects. There are areas of the system that are decades old, some dating back more than 100 years, and an extensive amount of work is estimated to bring it up to modern standards.

Infrastructure improvements was identified as a Focus Area by the Commission and public in Macon-Bibb’s Forward Together Strategic Plan, and work on the water systems has long been recognized as needing significant attention.
