Commissioner Al Tillman will hold a public forum on Monday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. in the Government Center’s Commission Chambers (700 Poplar Street) to discuss blight in District 9. Also at the meeting, he will provide an update on projects in District 9, including improvements to Log Cabin Road and Filmore Thomas Park.

“This is an opportunity for people to let us know where they see the most blight, give ideas how it can be addressed, and identify resources and partnerships that can support Macon-Bibb’s efforts,” says Commissioner Tillman. “We have an opportunity with available funds to make a difference in our neighborhoods, and I want to hear from people how we can best improve the community.”

Macon-Bibb County issued $10 million in bonds to address blight in neighborhoods, and the Commission approved spending $1 million in each District on projects and efforts identified by Commissioners.
