You may have heard Shan Towns’ voice and not even realized it. For the past several years, she worked in the Customer Service part of the Communications team at City Hall. She would answer phone calls with a smile, no matter what was waiting on the other end of line. We miss Shan here in the Comms department, but she has traded Downtown Macon for the great outdoors and we’re proud to celebrate her new role!

Shan was recently brought on as the Office Manager at Lake Tobesofkee. There, she’ll handle payroll and finances, requisitions, bookings, and other needs which may arise. Shan’s worked with Macon-Bibb for 13 years now, starting out in Risk Management. We asked her why she has stayed with us so long.

“Every job I’ve held with Macon-Bibb is like a family! We support each other to learn and grow, and I’m always learning something new, meeting someone new, and becoming a better version of myself in the process. And of course, I love solving problems to help people in our community,” she told us.

Outside of the office, Shan is a mother to two children and an avid fashionista. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, being creative, shopping, and getting a good nap or manicure to rest and refresh.

We asked Shan for her best piece of life advice she could pass on to someone else, and she said ,”Create your own lane, and set it one fire! That’s how you can be the best version of yourself!”
