At the Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting on September 3, 2019, Pastor Marvella Ivery of Jones Tabernacle CME Church said the prayer. We thank her for being part of our meeting.

Consent Agenda:

Commissioners approved an alcohol license for BLK Petroleum, Inc (6999 Knoxville Road) to sell packaged beer and wine.

Old Business:

The Board approved three items relating to our county Compliance and Policy Plans. These items have to be updated periodically to make sure we are in compliance with federal laws. Click each one to learn more about it.

  1. Title VI – preventing racial discrimination & harassment in federally funded programs
  2. Title VII – ensuring no one will be denied a job with the county on the basis of their sex, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, national origin, or religion
  3. Limited English Proficiency Policy & Plan –  Best practices for the county to provide services to those with limited English language skills

Commissioners approved Sundra Woodford (pictured) to the Macon-Bibb County Land Bank Authority.

The Board approved using $87,604 from the general fund in the FY2020 budget to create a Director of Accountability Courts position in the Macon Judicial Circuit Superior Court. It also approved a change to that organization chart.

Commission meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday each month, and the public is welcome to attend and address Commissioners. We also stream them online on our Facebook page, and publish them on MaconBibb.TV.
