On Wednesday, September 22 Mayor Lester Miller and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful (KMBB) announced the next County-wide Cleanup will take place Saturday, October 23.
“Each and every day our community is getting stronger together,” said Mayor Miller. “If we continue to work together, we can do great things. We are stronger together.”
More than 2,000 people collected more than 180,000 pounds of debris during the last two cleanups in April and June. Mayor Miller is hoping more people will get involved in this cleanup, especially as it is a week before trick-or-treaters will roam our streets.
Those who sign up to volunteer will get grabbers, trash bags, gloves, and safety vests. Once you register, you will also be able to provide a location for County crews to pick up your bags of trash collected.
“Our County Solid Waste crews play a huge, pivotal role in making this successful as thousands of volunteers pick up the trash,” said KMBB Executive Director Caroline Childs. “Thank you to all of those workers, for all that you do to help clean our streets.”
