Partnership to provide 20 scholarships for Big Brother Big Sister Littles

Tattnall Square Park, John Drew Smith Tennis Center, and Randy Stephens Tennis Center are hosting Tennis Academy Summer Camps from June 1 – July 30 . Media are invited to attend the beginning of the camp on Monday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. at John Drew Smith Tennis Center .

This will be the first year Agape Tennis Academy is running the camps as they are the new tennis company hired by Macon-Bibb County to provide tennis services and lessons, as well as attract tournaments, to the community. Additionally, Agape is sponsoring up to 20 children age 6-18 from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia (BBBS) to attend one of the week-long camps.

“Many of our kids have little or no exposure to tennis, and this will give them the opportunity to learn more about the sport as well as provide a safe place to be, at no cost to their family,” says Betsy Fitzgerald, BBBS President & CEO. “A few of them of them participated in a special USTA program last fall and had a great time, and working with Agape, we can help continue that excitement.”

“We are so excited to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters and welcome their children into our camps,” says Amy Pazahanick, Agape Tennis Academy CEO. “Being able to offer free scholarships to tennis camps at the same centers I learned to play on myself as a kid is incredibly fulfilling.”

The Camps support all levels (beginner to advanced) and ages 4-18. The tennis camps are high energy, fun, and include a variety of different activities including tennis, team building games and competitions, relay races, confidence building, and more. Camps will be run by Pazahanick and a staff of skilled and trained counselors, all of whom are current or former collegiate tennis players. Agape weaves its core value of HEART (Honesty, Excellence, Attitude, Responsibility, and Teamwork) throughout camps in a fun way to make sure kids are becoming better tennis players and people.
