The Macon-Bibb County Board of Elections is preparing for this year’s elections by getting its early voting site ready, getting ready to set up precincts for the next Election Day, and taking extra health precautions to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Early voting will take place Monday – Friday, May 18 – June 5, with the option to vote there on Saturday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Board of Elections at 2525 Pio Nono Avenue, Suite 1200. Election Day for the General Primary, Nonpartisan General, and Presidential Preference Primary is Tuesday, June 9.

A full calendar of deadlines related to the election can be found below, and more details about the elections, ballots, and more can be found on the Board of Elections website.

“As always, we ask that people make sure they know which districts they live in for each race, and to review the sample ballots posted online so they’re familiar with the process,” says Board of Elections Supervisor Jeanetta Watson. “In this challenging and unprecedented time because of COVID-19, we are looking to our community to help us protect each other and slow the spread of COVID-19 by taking their own precautionary measures.”

During Early Voting and on Election Day, the Board of Elections is encouraging people to bring and wear their own protective masks, and all staff and poll workers will wear masks. There will also be hand sanitizer and access to bathrooms available for people to sanitize and/or wash their hands. Lines will be marked with tape to keep people six feet apart.
