Several community members and organizations came together on Thanksgiving Day to feed everyone staying at the Brookdale Resource Center.

Together, they fed around 100 people for lunch and served Thanksgiving staples such as turkey, cornbread dressing, collard greens, candied yams, and macaroni and cheese.

“The residents were very appreciative and thankful for having a meal that resembled what they would have in their own home for the holiday,” said Center Director Alison Bender.

A special thanks to everyone who volunteered, including Greater Macon Chamber Ambassadors for providing turkeys, Helms College culinary student Marcus Pertillo for the sides, and MASAB Shriner Temple #11 for providing desserts.
