On November 18, Mayor Lester Miller presented Savion Wright with a proclamation. Wright is a Rutland High School 2017 graduate and a product of Communities in Schools, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to surround students with a community of support.   

Wright joined the United States Air Force in January 2018 and was deployed to Qatar from March 15 to October 12, 2021.

When he comes home, Wright takes every opportunity to speak with the youth in our community. He shares his stories, both hardships and successes. He hopes to make a difference in their lives and help guide them.
