About 40 boxers from across the state will be competing at Freedom Park’s United Boxing Club (3301 Roff Avenue) on Saturday, September 21. This is the 10th anniversary of the Belt Show and it begins at 12:00 p.m.
“This tournament shows the community that it’s more than just football, basketball, and baseball,” says Freedom Park Center Supervisor James Hand. “Boxing helps build confidence. We have these tournaments to show the growth of boxing and how much you can take from it in this community.”
Admission is $20, but free for kids under 5 years old. Food and drinks will be available for purchase outside of the Center.
“We receive recognition and appreciation from around the nation and brought a national champion back to Macon,” says Hand. “That shows how much Macon boxing has grown.”
