Mayor proclaims October as SIDS awareness month

Representatives from Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital came to City Hall this week in honor of SIDS Awareness Month. Executive Director of Community Affairs Dr. Henry Ficklin read the proclamation and Mayor Lester Miller presented it to representatives.

SIDS stands for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and is responsive for one in three infant deaths in the U.S. Atrium hopes to raise awareness of the risk factors of SIDS to help keep our community’s infants safe. Click here to read the full proclamation.
