Bibb County grand jurors indicted a Macon man Tuesday in two cases on allegations he molested three girls – all aged 11 and younger – and raped one of them.

Kenneth Cornell Mathis Sr., 49, is charged with rape, child molestation and criminal attempt to commit a felony stemming from alleged incidents in 2009 and two counts of child molestation stemming from alleged incidents in 2014 and 2015.

An indictment is a charging document issued by grand jurors if the group determines probable cause exists for the case to move forward toward trial.  Each defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
