Macon – Bibb County jurors deliberated for a little more than an hour Wednesday before finding a Milledgeville man guilty of aggravated child molestation, child molestation and other related charges.

A judge sentenced 32-year-old Demarcus Antwon Davis to life in prison followed by an additional 30 years in prison.

Prosecutors Cara Fiore and Mark Daniel presented evidence during the three-day trial showing Davis molested two girls — then aged 5 and 9 — in March 2017. The molestation was discovered after a family member noticed one of the girls was engaging in behavior inappropriate for her age and questioned her. Davis was arrested May 22, 2017.

Both girls, family members and a forensic interviewer from The Crescent House child advocacy center testified during the trial. Two other girls also offered testimony that Davis had molested them in another jurisdiction.

Speaking after the trial, District Attorney David Cooke said, “All too often, those who harm children are the very people they trust the most. In this case, Mr. Davis abused that trust and took advantage of the relationship. Thanks to this jury’s verdict, he’ll never have the opportunity to hurt another child again.”
