Dr. Ike Mack from Unionville Baptist Church said the prayer prior to the 9/18/18 Macon-Bibb County Commission Meeting. Two of our talented 4-H students, Jamie Tolbert and Jayden Tolbert, led the room in the pledge of allegiance. Thank you to all three of them for their contribution to our meeting.

Agenda Items:

Macon-Bibb Commissioners voted to accept 245.15 acres along the Ocmulgee River from the Georgia Department of Transportation. The land will be used for future expansions of the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.

Commissioners approved a grant for the Sheriff’s Office from Middle Georgia State University & the United States Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhoods program. The $158,094 grant will be used for an integrated ballistics information network system, and to reduce gang and gun violence. Read more about that grant here.
