In an effort to support the needs of many people in our community, the Office of Workforce Development, in collaboration with Central Georgia Technical College, has created several program that assist with educating ex-offenders, convicted felons, and those seeking a chance to become productive citizens in our society.

Commissioners Tillman and Virgil Watkins are working with the Office of Workforce Development to help educate people in Macon-Bibb County about available programs that would benefit them and their families.

“We want to help people transform their lives and overcome barriers to employment and success,” says Macon-Bibb County Commissioner Al Tillman. “The programs and support are available for people to create better lives, and it’s up to us to make sure they know about them.”

“Education is what will lift our families out of poverty,” says Commissioner Watkins. “If we can help them get into programs where they can earn their GED and learn a trade, then they have a better chance of getting a job, providing for their families, and giving back to the community.”
